MICHAEL BEUTLER'S
PUMP HOUSE
COLLABORATION PROJECT
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Artist Michael Beutler often works with local collaborators when setting up an exhibition, I was luckily invited to contribute towards the creation of Pump House exhibition at Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery. With a very hands-on approach, Beutler celebrates the art of making and invents multiple creative tools which each produce different objects and textures which come together to create the exhibition. Alongside his team of collaborators, Beutler transformed the galleries using paper and cardboard, much of which is recycled and repurposed from previous works.

The exhibition is a reimagination of an exhibition which Beutler previously created at Spike Island in Bristol, the connection between both galleries being the architects Caruso St John. All materials from the Spike Island exhibition were recycled and helped to create the new installation in Nottingham.
